Challenges people’s paradigms; welcome Him whole-heartedly; though I have moved on from His schitic’k so to speak; a good primer for getting you to think for yourself…and the indoctrinations that we all have to grow out of.

The single best truth, I’ve received from Professor Watts:

"All belief systems are traps!!!"; which isn’t to be taken as, necesarrily, an endorsement for atheism, but that beliefs are to be viewed as roadmaps, and to remember that the roadmap is not the territory. I believe, what Professor Watts, was ‘driving’ at was that all belief-systems after a time; suck you in and ask for a committment; the committment isn’t always bad, and some truths can be learned in the process; just be willing to shed that skin of belief at an appropriate time so your soul not your belief can always be developing.

This thought is the concept behind my quote: "Absorb ideas, without being absorbed by them"; a pledgerism of Watts original thought, now that I think about it….then again…

Not that i am aware of. Those who are interested in Eastern philosophies do tend to read his work but the majority of people don’t.
Also Alan Watts didn’t call himself a teacher or Guru, but rather a spiritual entertainer

I don’t know WHERE you could have found Alan Watts during your formal education. Actually, I don’t know anything about Alan Watts.
I do, however, have some thoughts about people who are so careless that they misspell "where": Crappy schools are what you’ve made them – and Alan Watts might have shown you a path… which you would not have taken.
Just a guess.

Yeah I have a couple of his books and have heard some of his radio stuff.

Basically he’s a philosopher trying to find links between Eastern and Western philosophy. Been around since the 60’s I think!

He’s great to listen to while high… on whatever is your favourite way to get there
